———————————-
Beyond and before any
Time, space or matter –
A ‘Being’, a ‘Presence’ – the
First and the latter.[i]
Yes, He was and He is and
Forever will be
Existent outside of time –
Through eternity. [ii]
Then He spoke into being
The heavens and Earth
And all that is living,
Yes, He gives them birth.[iii]
And by His infinite power,
All things are sustained,
If He chose to let go, then
No-thing would remain.[iv]
And He governs, He’s sovereign,
The ruler of all,
Over the galaxies large
And atoms so small,[v]
Earth’s systems and seasons,
From winter to fall,
Its’ provision and weather,
The calm and the squall,[vi]
Birds, fish and animals
And insects that crawl,
Angels and people, both
The great and the small.[vii]
And God is a spirit,
Without form or mass,
A non-physical being,
Through Whom we can pass. [viii]
And He’s omnipresent,
Yes, He’s everywhere,
Like the ocean to fish,
His presence we share.[ix]
Yet, more, He is infinite,
Beyond here and there,
Transcending Heaven and Earth –
All things everywhere.[x]
Yet, He can appear in
The physical realm,
Though not His full glory,
Which would overwhelm.[xi]
And God, He is also
A being of light,
Overpowering darkness –
Both evil and night.[xii]
Outshining the brightness
Of sun at midday,
Lighting all Heaven, where it’s
Eternally day.[xiii]
Yet, like us, He’s a person,
With thoughts and a will,
Intellect and emotions –
Quite deeply He feels.[xiv]
And this person, this God, He
Is one, yet He’s three,
He is Father, Son, Spirit –
He’s one trinity.[xv]
And He is omniscient,
He knows and sees all,
The extent of each star and
Each bird which will fall,[xvi]
The life of each human, as
We’re formed in the womb,
Through our days and our years – ‘till
Were placed in the tomb.[xvii]
Our thoughts, deeds and motives,
Each word that we say,
Each sin we commit, if
A thousand each day.[xviii]
And God, He is holy,
Much purer than snow,
Only righteous perfection
Can He ever show.[xix]
And He’s perfectly just, so
His judgment is fair,
Thus, no sin is ignored and
No sin can He bear.[xx]
Each one must be punished,
This truth cannot budge,
If He fails to do right, then
He cannot be judge.
Yet, He’s also love and [xxi]
Grace flows from His throne,
What He’s done is amazing –
To make us His own.
He stepped into creation,
To walk on the earth,[xxii]
To help us relate and
To give us new birth.[xxiii]
For with sin, we each die and
We’re headed for Hell,[xxiv]
And each human will do this,
We each will rebel.[xxv]
Thus, since He wanted children
He gave us free will.
He didn’t want puppets, so
His blood He did spill.[xxvi]
Yes, He came to the earth to
Be born as a man[xxvii]
And He took our punishment,
This was His great plan.
He was beaten and bloodied
And died on a cross[xxviii]
To offer forgiveness
And spare us the loss
Of the glories of Heaven,
Where all will be well
And instead burn forever
As judgment in Hell. [xxix]
And now He is calling
To make us His own,
To accept His forgiveness
And bow to His throne,[xxx]
To accept Him as Abba
As Daddy, as Love[xxxi]
For eternal grace which
Flows down from above,
And He wants to fill us,
As water to sponge[xxxii]
And cleanse us from inside,
Remove all the grunge.[xxxiii]
And His love, it is perfect,
So deep and so pure,
And He never changes, so[xxxiv]
His love is secure.[xxxv]
