Mommy, God Forgives You

(For a PDF file of this poem, see the very end)

This message comes from Heaven and

Deep within my soul,

To lift your heart and bless you,

This, mom, is my goal.

I know of your decision which

Quickly sent me here,

And ever since, you’ve struggled hard,

Fighting back the tears.

Jesus said you stopped my growth, you

Stopped my beating heart, [i]

And from the life He had for me,

I was torn apart.

But, here I am now in His arms,

Eternally secure, [ii]

For I too, have accepted Him,

I, too, now am pure. [iii]

And while it’s true, to end my life,

God did not approve, [iv]

When you asked Him for forgiveness,

Your guilt He did remove. [v]

And if you worry what I felt,

You can know for sure,

Here in my mind and memory,

It did not occur. [vi]

And while I know your pain on earth,

It may never end,

This message which comes from His Word,

Overjoyed I send. [vii]

 You accepted Jesus and you’re

Now as pure as snow [viii]

And up here we are all like Him, [ix]

Thus, I love you so.

And there are other people here, who’d

Wrongly taken life,

Paul, Moses and King David, who

Stole his victim’s wife. [x]

But, they too, were forgiven and

Served God from then on,

And that’s what He wants you to do, [xi]

Until He calls you home,

And you know you must forgive all

Those who spurred you on, [xii]

As well as those who try to save,

But do it oh-so wrong.[xiii]

Then after you have served Him and

You call Heaven home,

On these precious streets of Gold,

You and I will roam. [xiv]

 Signed,

Alive and Well
