God’s Laughter & Tears

One-hundred billion specks of light,

A sum like desert sand, [i]

He spreads throughout the universe,

To shine at His command.

And each of them, a galaxy,

Like ours, the Milky Way,

Which has a hundred billion stars,[ii]

With one to give us day.

And just beyond this tiny star,

Is where we find the earth,

And where all people live at first,

It’s where He gives us birth.

And while it’s such a tiny place

To Him who ‘let it be,’[iii]

He made man in His image, thus, [iv]

The earth, it is the key.

For, this is where His plan unfolds

To make a family[v]

That will love and honor Him

Throughout eternity.[vi]

And while the nations plot in vain

To overthrow His rule,

They, like Satan will all find,

Rebellion is for fools. [vii]

For God, enthroned in Heaven laughs,

He scoffs at man’s revolt,[viii]

For He who made the earth and sky,

Controls the lightning bolt,[ix]

The swirling clouds, the wind, the rain, [x]

The raging of the seas,[xi]

The quaking earth,[xii] the season’s change,

The summer and the freeze,[xiii]

The air we breathe, the food we eat, [xiv]

The beating of each heart,

The total days we’ll live on earth, [xv]

As well as when they’ll start. [xvi]

And, though He’ll rebuke a nation

And bring it to an end,[xvii]

His love is for each person, so

His grace He will extend –

To anyone who will bow down

And accept Him as their Lord,[xviii]

With His payment for our sins,[xix]

A price we can’t afford.

We’re given life to love Him back [xx]

And this requires ‘free-will’

But, sin demands a punishment,

So our Saviors’ blood did spill.[xxi]

Yes, God stepped into time and space[xxii]

To die upon a cross,

So justice, it could be upheld,

While mercy spared us loss.

Now, He prepares a paradise [xxiii]

For all who will say yes,

Who with ‘free-will’ accept His love

And all their sin, confess. [xxiv]

But, for those who will not bow,

Who’ll die in all their sin,

Throughout all of eternity,

Hell’s fire they will be in. [xxv]

For God He cannot be unjust,[xxvi]

What they sow, they’ll reap,

And He will not make them puppets,

So, He and they will weep.[xxvii]

[viii] Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?  The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One.   “Let us break their chains,” they say, “and throw off their fetters.”  The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. [xiv] So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?’ or `What shall we drink?’ . . .  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33
