Wandering through a meadow,

Hand in hand with my child,

Stopping to smell the flowers

Growing lovely and wild,

A songbird in the distance, the

Weather sunny and mild,

And the moment so perfected

As my little one smiled.

But suddenly, the mood was changed

By something which she spied,

Then she sadly turned and asked me,

‘Why the butterfly died.’

I stopped and prayed and asked the Lord,

“Oh Father, guide my answer;[i]

For this subject goes from bugs to

War and crime and cancer.”

I told her; When God made the world,

There was no pain or sorrow,[ii]

And nothing was supposed to die,

There’d always be tomorrow.[iii]

But people, they decided to

Ignore the Father’s voice,[iv]

And by rejecting His authority,

They made an awful choice.

They brought death into the world [v]

As God warned they would do,

When they accepted Satan’s lies,

Who said it wasn’t true.[vi]

And God, He let it happen, for

He’d made them to be free,

He didn’t make them puppets; It’s

The same with you and me.

See, He wants us as His children,[vii]

For puppets cannot love,

And wants us to obey Him; not[viii]

Control us like a glove.

So sickness, death and sorrow, they’re

All here because of sin.[ix]

And, ever since man disobeyed,

This is the way it’s been.

But God, He has not given up,

He has a master plan,[x]

To make another perfect world[xi]

Where He can live with man,[xii]

Where He can make us sinless,[xiii]

For we will want Him to,

And then care for us forever[xiv]

His love, steadfast and true.[xv]

There people will love each other,

For He has loved us first,[xvi]

And all problems and all heartaches,

Well, they will be dispersed[xvii]

And He has now supplied the way

To forgive us all our sin,[xviii]

To make us perfect in His eyes

And eternal life, begin.[xix]

For He stepped into time and space,

To walk upon the earth,[xx]

To show us His amazing love

And give us second birth.[xxi]

He came and died upon the cross,

So justice was upheld,[xxii]

He came and took our punishment

So mercy hasn’t failed. [xxiii]

And now He says to come to Him,

Accept Him as our Lord,[xxiv]

For He’s prepared a place for us,[xxv]

Where we will be adored,

And blessed for all eternity,

Where there will be no sin,[xxvi]

For only those who want His love

Will ever be let in.[xxvii]

This place which we call Heaven will

Be bigger than the earth,[xxviii]

To hold all of the people who’ve

Accepted second birth,[xxix]

As well as all earth’s animals

Which He will make again;[xxx]

Everything with scales or tails,

With feathers, fur or skin,

And butterflies will never die,

Nor any living thing,

For animals will never hunt,

Or fight or bite or sting.[xxxi]

And they will all be friendly, yes,

And you can pet each one,[xxxii]

There, life will be so wonderful,

And problems, there’ll be none.[xxxiii]

But for now, He has us here and

He wants to intervene[xxxiv]

In the lives of His children, so

His love, it can be seen,

And though He can’t make this Heaven,

Not with the sin of man,

He will use it all for good[xxxv]

Per His eternal plan.

F.Y.I. Butterfly Migration: God’s sovereign care for His creation.

Imagine a straight line with four points on it.  Point ‘A’ will be at the beginning of the line; point ‘B’ will be one-third of the way down it; point ‘C’ will be two-thirds of the way down it; and point ‘D’ will be at the far end of it.

A——————–B——————–C——————–D

When Monarch Butterflies migrate, it takes at least four generations for them to complete the migration.  One generation starts the migration – flying from point ‘A’ to point ‘B.’   When they get to point ‘B’, they mate, lay their eggs and then die.  Later, when their offspring emerge from their cocoons—having gone through the caterpillar stage—that generation continues the migration on to point ‘C.’  When they get to point ‘C,’ they mate and then die.  Later, when their offspring emerge from their cocoons, that generation continues the migration on to point ‘D.’  When they get to point ‘D,’ they mate and then die.  Later, when their offspring emerge from their cocoons, that generation makes the return trip, flying back to point ‘A.’ The cycle repeats itself ceaselessly.

But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.  Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:7-10
